Facebook’s Open Graph: The Semantic Wallet

This session is an in-depth exploration into how Facebook is moving away from their position as ""The Social Network"" to become a driving force in the data-driven web. Information will be presented from a business and academic perspective.

The Open Graph has matured; information is now shared with Facebook in a passive and descriptive manner. Facebook is taking the position of your wallet of interactions, consisting of both virtual and real world content and contexts.

The new generation of Facebook Open Graph apps allow for reasonably detailed information about your interactions to be added to your timeline; seen and unseen as branded items. The next generation of layered apps will use intelligences to build novel experiences for their users based on an analysis of their online and offline activities.
